Day of my Shoot & The photos
Today is the day of shoot. I've got my camera ready, i've got the make-up, garments and accerories all ready. I know where i'm shooting and my model is meeting me in brighton at 11am. Lets go !
Images of graffiti-- sorting out exposure adjustments on camera- as its a lovely sunny day!
Here are some of the images from the shoot!
LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION
I came to find the perfect location to have my shoot!!!
Marwood Cafe. (now bar)
The whole place was amazing, its so hard to describe- a must place to go and visit. There was so many nooks and cranny s where amazing art work was on wall. It was a really relaxed atmosphere and staff were really happy to oblige with anything. The graffiti work outside was incredible and there was a huge variety therefore I thought this was ideal
After searching round the lanes of brighton ...
Conceptual Styling
When it came to styling i wanted to make sure i was keeping the brand in mind. Therefore i have really tried to emphasis the retro look which I picked up within the campaign. I looked back to my hair ideas from earlier in my blog and went with a plait around the head as i thought this gave an interesting link to the head scarves. I have decided to have the square scarves as neck neck scarf neatly tied. The make up I want to be kept very minimal focusing on the natural look that is emphasised throughout Marc Jacobs and Marc by Marc Jacobs. I'm going to have white knee high sock with black ankle boots similar to what is featured in the campaign.
How my Model Fits Within The Brand.
I thought about how I could represent the Marc by Marc Jacobs campaign within the model and taking into account the hair and skin tone, especially with the idea of location of a colorful graffiti wall.
Marc by Marc Jacobs still invoke the simplistic- not over stylized look within their photoshoots therefore when it comes to model choice I need to pick a model that can emphasis that effortless beauty with a retro 70’s vibe.
Hair colour I would prefer blonde as I think this will compliment the location and the colours of my garments. Skin tone I think needs to be fairly light, I think this would help the whole natural almost beach appearance. Effortless with the wind in their hair if you like.
I think it would benefit if the model was over 5’5 as I think the clothing would have better perspective on a taller figure.
My clothing is Womenswear therefore I’m going to need a female model of a young age under 25 in order to invoke the brand. As I previous mentioned Marc by marc Jacobs collection s/s 13 is targeted at a younger audience therefore a younger model I think would represent the clothing more appropriately- which would attract the correct target market.
I was really happy with how my last photoshoot went with model Ranny cooper as I felt she was very versatile in whatever role I needed her to create. Therefore I thought it was worth a chat to see what she could bring to this role and if she had done any photo with a similar awareness.
This is a photo from my Previous photo shoot with Ranny.
After chatting with Ranny I felt confident
that she could pull of the poses and attitude that I’m trying emphasis through
my images. In order to represent marc by Marc Jacobs. I feel that she fits in
with the brand and will help bring out the clothing to their maximum potential.
